Far from home

The hardest part about being in the NICU is being so far from home. Dad is going to have to do a lot of driving back and forth to get to see us because of his store, the house, the dogs. How thankful are we that we came during Mom's summer vacation?
Here is Mom and Dad with Nadia. Both girls got some phototherapy to treat jaundice.

Day 2 of Life

We both spent the first day in an isolette called a giraffe.  We were both taken off of the ventilators and put on a sipap around midnight.  However, the next day Nadia was getting tired and had to be put back on the vent. Two steps forward, one step back.

Hello World

We surprised the world on June 20th by arriving early at 27 1/2 weeks.  Nadia Erin was born at 8:52 P.M. and weighed 2 pounds and 6 ounces.  Little sister Emily Dawn was born at 8:53 and weighed only 1 pound and 10 ounces.  Although we were tiny, everyone was pleased with how well we did the first night.
