Easter weekend started off with two days off of school for Emily while I had parent teacher conferences. She spent Thursday at a place called the Messy Moose art studio, and then it was off to the dentist (baby teeth are still bad, adult teeth are still good), before the grand finale to the gymnastics team season. It was a demonstration to show the public the new skills that the girls have been practicing. Emily took it upon herself to call and invite Miss Jeanne from Swiftsure, our family friend everyone calls Sensei, her friend Brooke and family, and friends Rick and Cindy. She gave everyone the details, and everyone but Rick and Cindy were able to make it. Miss Jeanne even brought her flowers.

The night ended with about 50 girls sleeping over on the gym floor! Aaron picked her up Friday morning, I was done at work and took her home around lunch time, and she took a very long nap. Later that afternoon we spent up at Sun Valley for the annual egg hunt, but now that Emily is old enough to be with the big kids it was a little more competitive and only scored 5 eggs. Luckily there was a good magic show afterward to make it worth it.
Here are the eggs Emily created this year.
And her basket the bunny left. She loved her book titled Nadia the Girl Who Couldn't Sit Still about the gymnast Nadia Comaneci, but there was also some craft supplies and a new pair of flip flops to enjoy. Of course there was a lot of candy as well.
Our Easter was anything but traditional, most of the afternoon was spent at the gun range. Now that spring is here, Emily has shown a lot more interest in shooting again. She's not a die hard like her dad!
