Gym practice was cancelled on Friday, and Emily decided it was the perfect night to go out shooting with Dad.  And since she likes a cheering section (and a mag loader), that usually means I get invited to tag along.

There are only 32 school days between now and summer, and yesterday was our first day in the 70s.  It was so great to sit in the sunshine and feel hot!

Our Friday night was spent at gym for the end of the year recital and team party.  Each team made up a group floor routine and they all had a chance to show off their new skills they've learned in the month since competition season ended.  Emily is currently working on cartwheels on the beam, her jump to high bar, perfecting the back tuck, and the front handspring open vault.  The girls had a sleep over at the gym and by 9:30 Saturday morning she was asleep on the couch.  Hopefully she's up in time to enjoy another nice day!

Randomness

Since gymnastics is over, it's hard to remember to get my camera out and take pictures!  But our schedule stays busy...
Monday is still horseback riding.  At the end of the lesson, Indy was given some time to roll in the sawdust, but he would rather follow Emily around the arena.

Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday are still gymnastics days and she's working on the gold level skills, including the back tuck and a vault without mats.  

Weekends are full of playdates and outings, including a local B league hockey game and swimming at the hotel.  Timed right, it's like having a private pool!

 

Spring Break - the ending

Thursday was a trip to Twin Falls to spend some time at the dog park with Millie and then Jump Time for Emily.  Friday meant the end of Rock Climbing camp (a big hit with Emily) and then to the Sun Valley Easter egg hunt.

On Saturday Emily spent the day skiing on Baldy at a girls only Wild Skills Jr. Ski Patrol Camp.  From 9-3 she skied with female ski patrol volunteers and they traveled to stations around the mountain.  Emily rode in a toboggan, searched for buried treasures (donuts next to a beacon), and learned some first aid.  She even managed to win a helmet, goggles, and a T-shirt in the raffle.

Sunday morning started off with an Easter egg scavenger hunt at home, but then it was off to Dollar Mountain for closing day.  Emily wanted to get in one last day of skiing, but she also wanted to watch the Ski Patrol Cold Pond.

 Emily was successful at giving the practice pond a try!
