Christmas

Emily's wish this year was to receive a tufting gun, a tool meant to automate the tufting process specifically in rug making.  Her kit came with the machine, the frame, and the backing cloth.  She also received a lot of yarn and a gift card to help purchase the supplies needed.

Practicing first.

Her first rug is the blue and white striped part.
Extra practice around the outside to get a hang of it!

Gift cards, money and a lot of smaller items and gift cards rounded out the presents she received. She was so excited to tuft Christmas afternoon.  Her goal is to be able to sell the rugs with a little more practice!

Christmas Traditions

Emily's handprint was added to the tree skirt.
The new ornaments for the tree.
Emily's color is purple and Nadia's is yellow.

Emily made this tree shaped wreath.

The best thing about a puppy is when it's a friend's puppy!

Emily continues to ride, luckily there is an indoor arena! This was her first time riding Harry.

On November 22nd we were back in Twin Falls, so we picked up Kaitlyn and the girls went rock climbing.

Roadtrip to Arizona

November 7-15th Aaron and Emily were on an adventure with their main goal of competing in the Area 2 match in Mesa, Arizona.  They extended the trip by making stops at the Hoover Dam, the Grand Canyon, and the Las Vegas strip so that Emily could finally eat at a Gordon Ramsay restaurant.

Haunted Swamp

Emily and Kaitlyn went trick or treating in Twin.  Then after a quick dinner we all went to the Haunted Swamp.

When your lesson pony Bo is sweaty, but the outdoor temperature is near freezing, you use a hair dryer before you put him back in the paddock! So thankful for the indoor arena!

Emily met a friend through Connections Academy that lives in Twin Falls.  On the 15th we met her at Tubbs Pumpkin Patch to spend the afternoon.  The girls had fun with the apple cannons and did the straw maze (that was in the shape of Idaho five times) before picking out their pumpkins.

And they even fit in the cow train!

One obligation Emily has as part of her sponsorship deal is that she needs to write a monthly article for the Junior Shooters magazine.  This is her second published article and she wrote about an issue she had with her equipment at the area 1 championship.

The fall weather has been amazing!  It was a great night for riding this past Thursday, even Smoky enjoyed it.  The previous week was super windy and Emily rode Remi in the indoor arena.  The plan was to ride Smoky, but you could tell Smoky wanted nothing to do with it that evening!

The redone indoor arena preparing for colder days.

Weekly riding lessons and competitive shooting are the two activities on the schedule for now.  Emily just competed at the Berry's shooting match in Utah this weekend and brought home two trophies - 2nd place in open C class and high ladies' score in open!

8th Grade

Emily started school on August 22nd with a big change.  She is now staying home and doing online school through Connections Academy.  So far, so good!  There were a few technology issues that we were able to work out, but she is so much happier now that she is not attending Wood River Middle School.

Great Grandma will be 100 this coming March!

Another event we went to while in Iowa was the stock car races in Boone.  Emily was there for the wrecks, and there were a few, but it was a chilly and windy evening.
