A Wedding!

Friday after school Emily and I caught a flight to Minneapolis.  It was a mad dash home to witness Sam's wedding.  We landed at midnight, caught a few hours of sleep before grabbing a rental car and making the three hour drive to northeast Iowa.  The highway took us through Amish country, so I enjoyed watching them plow fields with draft horses and we passed plenty of buggies.

We made it in plenty of time for the ceremony and had fun hanging out with Grandpa and Grandma while we waited.  The wedding was beautiful, and even though Emily became a little anxious at the end to get out of there (worried she wouldn't have time to swim at the hotel pool, then it turned out to be too cold anyway), she still had a great time (I did, too)!

On Sunday we had enough time to help clean up (just a little), have lunch with Pat, Cheri, Grandpa, and Grandma, and then head back to Minnesota to catch a late afternoon flight.  What a great weekend!

 On Sunday Emily went with Brooke to the heated outdoor pool at the Limelight Hotel in Ketchum.  They had friends who were staying there, so this is pretty much a one time deal!

After time at the pool, then a play date at Brooke's house, Emily can home and helped me rake leaves.  Although for her it was more play than work.

Tubbs Berry Farm

Emily had a birthday party at Jump Time in Twin Falls this morning, so Aaron and I drove down there after it was over so we could take her to the pumpkin patch.

First up were the slides and playground.

Then we went into the straw maze.  The challenge was to find 5 different hole punches within the maze.  We took a picture of the maze and used it like a map to find all five!

Then it was time to hit the patch and find our pumpkins.

Happy that she isn't too old for this tradition yet, but I do miss dressing her in cute Halloween shirts!

On Saturday Emily and I traveled to Boise.  She participated in a six hour gymnastics camp while I ran errands.  At the end, she was exhausted, but she thought it was worth it.

And when you have friends whose property has old abandoned silver mines and they ask if you want to go in them, you say yes and bring lots of flashlights.  We only spotted a single mouse, one bat, and lots of tiny bits of what might have been silver! 

Friday afternoon started off with Emily attending Brooke's birthday party.  If it's any indication how much Emily likes Brooke, she chose to skip gymnastics practice to attend.  

Then on Saturday we joined Brooke and her mom Jenna for a goblin and ghoul clay class where we were able to make anything we wanted and paint it.  We can pick the finished projects up in a week or so.  

Fall

Monday was Emily's first day back at Swiftsure for fall session.  She was happy to have Kristy as her instructor!

Wednesday was a beautiful fall day so we all took a drive up north to look at the leaves.
