Alice in Wonderland Sleepover

Last night Emily attended a birthday party sleep over with an Alice in Wonderland theme.  I haven't picked her up yet, but the mom sent me these photos from the tea party.

And just before bedtime, Emily sent a text to say goodnight and took some selfies so I could see her make up and nails.

This morning I got a text at 6:30 saying she was awake.  She also commented that they laughed a lot last night, but that she did get some sleep.  ðŸ˜‚  I predict there might be a nap this afternoon!

Boise

Our weekend Boise trip wasn't just competition this past weekend.  We had decided to spend the night and enjoy some time out of the valley.  After Emily walked away with all her medals on Saturday, we were joined at lunch by friends (and gymnastics cheerleaders) Rick and Cindy.  Then the three of us went to Wahooz and played the arcade games.  Emily discovered pinball a few weeks ago at the local pizza place, and was thrilled that Wahooz had it.

That night Emily swam at the hotel pool and bumped into a friend from school.  The two had a good time splashing around, and Emily was exhausted by the evening's end!

Sunday meant Aaron could go shoot in his own match, and Emily and I needed an indoor activity to do on a rainy morning.  Emily "jumped" at the chance to finally try out Jump Time in Meridian - a trampoline place.  She spent two hours literally bouncing off the walls and into foam pits.  There was a girl visiting from Washington and the two paired up and challenged each other to do front hand springs and front walk overs.  By the time we were ready to head home, Emily was exhausted once again!

Queen of Hearts Meet

On Saturday Emily competed at the Queen of Hearts meet in Boise.  My challenge was to do her hair with a heart in it.  Mission accomplished thanks to you tube tutorials!

This meet split Emily's bronze team into two sessions.  Emily competed with 6 of her teammates during the junior session, while the other three were old enough to compete in the senior session.

A Surprising Day Off

The weather was wacky this week - snow to rain to snow to rain, so much so that Baldy was closed on Thursday and Friday because of extreme avalanche danger.  It did reopen today with limited runs, so they decided to cancel Freeride for the kids today.

It's a bit weird not having any place to go on a Saturday!  So, Emily enjoyed the morning at open gym in preparation for her next meet.  Then with the sun shining, she played outside on the snow.  She attached herself to Gerda and let the dog pull her around for awhile.  And with a bit of ground showing we took advantage of getting a walk in as well.
