First Horse Show

Emily rode Smokey this morning in her first horse show.  It was a fun show, so no fancy attire required!  First up was dressage, where she memorized a pattern and then performed it in the ring.  Then she competed in the jumping portion twice.  The first run was ground poles, she did well, but forgot the 6th jump.  The second time through was cross rails, and Smokey cantered through that run.

Fall

Fall is here, that was evident when Emily and I went to Adam's Gulch this morning. She rode her bike, I hiked the trail.

Wood River Middle School

Emily started middle school on Wednesday.  Our school district is using the hybrid plan, so her school days are on Monday and Wednesday.  She has social studies, Spanish, technology, and science for the first nine weeks. She was thrilled to be back, at least part time!  She did have plenty of assignments to keep her occupied on Thursday and Friday, and made a new friend that lives nearby.   After the school work was done, they had fun riding bikes together around town.

The last few days of summer vacation really felt like fall.  The leaves are starting to change color and starting to fall off!

We made it back to the dog beach at Redfish for probably the last time this year.  You could see the salmon  from the bridge, so we watched them for awhile.
