2018 Top Flight Camp

Emily once again attended Top Flight gymnastics camp in Boise.  Camp was 9-4 on Friday and Saturday, then 9-12 on Sunday.  Over 100 girls worked on their skills, and Emily's favorite part was the coaching session where she heard about what judges look for during the routines.

Lots of conditioning! Not her favorite!

Saturday night we attended another ice show up in Sun Valley, this one featured Nathan Chen and we enjoyed watching his quad jumps!

Sunday was an impromptu trip to Redfish Lake with the Sauvageau family and their new boat.  It was the perfect lake day, and we all enjoyed jumping off the rocks and tubing!

Roaring Springs

Since we weren't on the cruise for Emily's birthday, we told her she could have a friend party.  The problem was that as soon as school was out, everyone she wanted to come started going on vacations.  Tuesday, July 17th was the first day where everyone was in town at the same time.  Aaron and I took the four girls to Roaring Spring Waterpark in Boise for the day.

4 was a perfect number- they could all fit in the larger rafts on some rides and did a great job of rotating partners on the 2 person rafts.  The girls had a great day!

Just because we are home for awhile now, doesn't mean that Emily has slowed down!  Friday we went and saw the movie Translvania 3 and enjoyed it.  Saturday morning Emily participated in a 4 hour basic handgun class.

Then there was time at the pool because it is HOT here in Idaho currently.

Olympic Training Center

Wednesday morning was a visit to the Olympic Training Center.  Our tour guide was Veronica Day, who is a skeleton racer for Team USA.  Emily was thrilled that while we were there we got to see the mens gymnastics team practice, as well as the shooting team.

After lunch it was time to start the 12 hour drive home.  We made it to Fort Collins and took a break at a trampoline park. Then headed on to Rock Springs again to spend the night.  We were home by lunchtime on Thursday.  Thanks Grandpa and Grandma for such a fantastic trip!

Royal Gorge

Tuesday was time spent at the Royal Gorge.

Cave of the Winds

Monday morning meant more time at the water park for Emily and me while Grandpa and Grandma headed over to the Air Force Academy to check it out.  After lunch, we headed to the Cave of the Winds.

While the cave tour was fascinating, there was just as much to do outside the cave, like another ropes course, rock climbing walls, and a zipline.
