The Wanderings of Emily...

We've just been up to more of the same -
trips to the park so that she can swing.

 She even tried out the big kid swing.  It was okay, but she still prefers the toddler version.

 Before the girls were born, Aaron's grandma gave us fruit trees, an apple and a pear for each girl.  The apple trees are having a hard time because of the voles last year, but for the first time we have a pear harvest.  We just have to get them before they hit the ground because our dog has a fondness for pears...

 Watermelon is still the favorite fruit of choice, but rivaled by strawberries.  Her love of fruit snacks has been replaced by fruit strips.

 It's starting to look like fall, but the weather in the afternoon is still nice.  We went for a stroll the other day.

The Official End to Summer

But you'd never know it with the weather we've been having -

She still wants to be outside from the time we get home from school till... well, until you drag her in kicking and screaming.  ;)

But once she's inside, she's breaking out into song.  These days you'll often hear Baa, Baa Black Sheep or Are you Sleeping on repeat.  And she's into stickers.  You can find them in the most random places.  And although she isn't into watching any cartoons on T.V. , she firmly believes that the laptop is hers for the purpose of watching the theme songs to Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Chuggington over and over.  She's a bit of a YouTube addict, wanting to watch silly computerized videos of, you guessed it, Baa Baa Black Sheep, Are You Sleeping, and her golden oldies of ABCs, Itsy Bitsy, Clap Your Hands...

Happy First Day of Fall.

Another week goes by...

Emily is really starting to say some cool things lately.  When coloring with Crayola's color wonder markers this week she told me, "It's magical!"

She's going every three months to physical therapy on an evaluation basis.  Her therapist still wants to see her kick a ball, catch a ball, and jump.  Those are all things she'll do at home, and three things she has never, ever done at therapy!  She's on a mission when she's there to play on their slide and in their pretend bus.

Some rainy days this past week, but two days of rainbows!

Saturday

Just because our carefree week days turned back into work days doesn't mean that we can't enjoy every minute of this gorgeous weather.   Today we fit in a bike ride, some time at the park, and a walk with the dog.  And we still had time left over to play outside in the yard.

Labor Day...belated

I know, this post is a little late.  I'm back to school and, well, tired.  ;)

But on Labor Day we had a lot of fun.  Emily got to go to her favorite place, the park, in Bellevue.  

 There was a train there for the Labor Day celebration for the kiddos.  Emily said she wanted to ride it.

 But she only lasted for a moment.  By the time I started snapping photos she was starting to look toward dad with panicked expressions and was ready to bail.  He was close by for the rescue.  It was worth a try!

Beautiful Day

What a great day outside today, so we played in the front yard.

Emily pulled the weeds -

 played peek-a-boo through the trees -

 ran around the yard -

 and climbed all over the dog.  And today that dog turned 8.

Wagon Days Parade

Yesterday we attended the Wagon Days parade.  

Emily loved watching all the horses, miniatures, and mules pull the wagons down the street this year.  

She clapped and waved and said, "Hi horsey!" "Bye horsey!" to almost every single entry.

Pretty Cool

Emily did something pretty cool last night while she was in the bath.  She asked to sit on the potty (which has been there for months) and then used it.  She must like August 31st for her milestones.  It was that date last year that she decided to get up and walk on her own.  What a difference a year makes...
