Father's Day

We went to Redfish Lake for Father's Day.  We started off in Stanley for a late breakfast, and Millie loved retrieving sticks in the water.  Gerda has torn her ACL and will get surgery soon, so she was left at home.  The water wasn't warm enough for Emily to swim, but it was a nice day.

 Aaron needed to change the oil in the cars, so Emily was his assistant.

The 11th birthday was a quiet affair.  We went on a hike, she chose Sushi on Second for dinner (we were one of two parties dining in that night), and had ice cream cake for dessert.  The cake had to make an hour and a half journey from Twin Falls so it mostly survived.

She was able to celebrate with her friend Jaidyn on Tuesday the 23rd.  We took the girls to Roaring Spring Water Park.  Having a tube with you is a great way to social distance, and they had the lines marked off and limited the number waiting.  The girls enjoyed the new ride and had a lot of fun. 

The big gift this year is a bedroom remodel.  She wants an ocean theme to support her growing sea turtle collection. We purchased the comforter, but she tie dyed the sheets and pillow cases.  The next phase will be repainting the walls and adding the decor.  She's done a great job at going through her things and creating big piles for donation.

She's also getting to redo her bathroom, and for that she has a gymnastics theme.  Grandma and Grandpa sent the new shower curtain.

 Gymnastics can be a little brutal sometimes.  Emily was practicing her kip on high bar when she fell.  Her throat and jaw hurt for a few days!  Jambu Juice helped, a little.

Yesterday Emily participated in a four hour class on the gun range with her Dad teaching. 

Emily spent her own money to make me a candy gram card for my birthday.

School officially ended for Emily on May 22nd, but for two weeks before that she started back to gymnastics with some big changes... she switched gyms.

She is now practicing with Magic Valley gymnastics in Twin Falls, which is an hour and a half drive each way.  Luckily we found one other family to be crazy enough to make the commitment so that we can carpool.  Emily is extremely happy there and hasn't minded the four hour practices three times a week.

 She continues to take a riding lesson once a week.

And she's been able to have some playdates and even a sleep over recently.  She also went mountain biking up at Galena.  The days have been hot, so playing in the water was necessary!

Most everything has reopened in town, although masks are worn by most while shopping.  We did go out to eat to celebrate the end of school, and we were the only people dining in!
