welcome spring

We headed to the park today for a little sunshine and a break from all the indoor play.

If you were to spend time talking to Emily on the telephone, she'd be sure to tell you "Boo!" over and over again.  She's been into shouting boo on the phone for awhile now.  She'd also laugh as she told you, "I fell in the toilet!"  (oops, a little slip getting on the potty the other night!) And, funny, I was just thinking how healthy she has been this winter, but her nose started to run on Friday.  

 We recently discovered that you can mix glue with shaving cream, add a little bit of food coloring, and it makes a really cool puffy paint!

Emi isn't usually into playing dress up, but this was her attempt the other night!

Last night I told Emily it was time to close her eyes and go to sleep.
"I'm too nervous to sleep in my bed," she said.
So, I decided to lay down with her.  However, she kept tossing and turning, and as a result kicking me.
"Emily, stop kicking!"
"I'm not kicking, I'm rubbing you."

Weekend Outings

Emily is into painting these days.

We found this great find at the bookstore where the paints are on the page and you just have to add a touch of water.  Cut off the paints and toss away, no clean up necessary.

Saturday was a nice, warm day (almost 70 degrees!) so we made it to Zoo Boise once again.  Although we spent more time on play structures and feeding the goats and sheep instead of looking at the wild animals.

"Sheep, are you hungry?" she asked.

Then on Sunday we went to an indoor play area called Jabbers.

Conversations with Emily these days -

Emily: Where's Daddy?
Me: Shooting with Nick.
Emily: Can I shoot Nick?

Emily: "Mom, take my pants off.  But don't take my belly."

(scene Subway, enter elderly couple)
Emily: "Are you going to eat lunch?"
Gentleman: "Yes, we are."
Emily: "You have to sit there."
Gentleman: "Yes, Ma'am!"

The Ug-guh-lee Duck-uh-ling, as Emily calls it...

I took Emily to see a little performance of the Ugly Duckling today at the bookstore in Ketchum.  She loved the pre-show performance of Old MacDonald and Wheels on the Bus, thought humans in costumes were a little scary, but felt confident on my lap.  Sat patiently for 30 minutes, and wandered for about the last 15 minutes...

Then we went to the village at Sun Valley to visit The Toy Store and grab a treat at the the candy store.  We took our treat and walked to the pond to see the real swans and ducks.

"Ducks, want to kiss me?" she was asking.

Pizza Maker

Emily helped me make pizza the other night, one of her favorites!  Her topping of choice are pepperoni, artichokes, and olives (and she eats more of them as she puts on the toppings than she does after the pizza is baked).
