The Big Hunt

Emily woke up this morning to a surprise.  Since the Bunny heard she would be traveling on Easter weekend, eggs were stashed around the house and a basket of goodies was placed for her to find.

The eggs were filled with puzzle pieces instead of candy this year .  She had such a good time running around finding the eggs while she put Dad to work assembling the puzzle.  She'd crack the egg open and leave him with what added up to 100 pieces of puzzle to put together!

Easter Prep

I have to admit, as excited as we are about the upcoming cruise, there was a moment of disappointment when I realized we would be on a 4 airport marathon on the day of Easter on our way back to reality.  But that doesn't mean we can't do all of the fun things before we go...

the finished product
An Easter egg hunt is planned for Tuesday, and her basket is filled with entertainment goodies (with a Disney theme) for the airplane ride.

One basket already arrived in the mail!
Thanks Grandpa-Grandma!

And speaking of gifts, there was one for me in the mail as well, a gift from a high school friend who also suffered a terrible loss.  The quote is one I've had on my blog since the beginning, one about speaking her name even if it makes me cry.
I'm always glad that Emily speaks her name freely, as if Nadia was just in the other room. Today when we were out playing, Emily brought me a stick and said, "Put this in your pocket for Nadia.  She'll be here soon."

I wish.

Warmer Days

What a warm week, Emily really enjoyed being outside after school riding her bike or scooter in the driveway, or exploring spring's introduction (buds on the tree!).

18 Days To Go

There's an app for that...

Considering the Hughstons were all taken down by a head cold this weekend, it was a good morning to paint.  I mixed in baking soda to the green paint, so when she was done painting the shamrock, she put vinegar on top to make it fizzle.

And while she was occupied making the shamrock sizzle, I created this countdown for our cruise because it just can't seem to get here soon enough.
