The End of the Trip

On Saturday, the 25th, we needed to be awake in time to have one last breakfast before disembarking the ship one last time.

From there we took the bus back to the Orlando Airport and rented a car.  We had a few hours to burn since our flight wasn't until 5 that evening.  We headed toward International Drive.  While Aaron looked in the shops, Emily and I returned to Wonderworks.

After lunch at Tommy Bahamas, we headed back to the airport to brave the security lines.  Just as we were ready to board, Aaron got hit by some nasty stomach bug (his bet, lunch) and we weren't able to get on the flight.  We headed back to the airport Hyatt and while Aaron suffered through it, Emily and I journeyed through the airport.  Luckily, this airport is an amusement park in itself.  We all tried to turn in early, but of course there was an orchestra playing in the lobby and we could hear every bit of it.  It turned into a late night with a very early morning getting up and out the door for the first flight home in the morning.  By that time, at least Aaron was feeling fine and we were home by noon on Sunday.

Castaway Cay Bahamas

The day after St. Thomas was another day at sea.  Emily spent more time in the kids club, and we went to a few more character meet and greets and finished up our onboard shopping.

Friday was the day we always look forward to - the day at Disney's private island.  We were one of the first families in line for that waterslide - the one that scared Emily to death when she was three.  She wouldn't ride it when she was 4, and last year she gave it a few tries and thought it was great.  Back then life jackets were not allowed and you do shoot out into deep ocean water.  This year she was required to wear a life jacket and she thought that was stupid!  So, we were only on it once before grabbing our floats and getting into the water.  We had the traditional BBQ lunch and enjoyed the new fresh water splash pad.

And it was right after an ice cream cone that Emily's loose tooth finally came out and she managed to catch it in her hand! The tooth fairy did manage to find us all the way out to sea and left her some money under her pillow.

St. Thomas U.S. Virgin Islands

The next day we had an excursion to Magans Bay on the northside region of St. Thomas.  It was a great day floating in the warm Caribbean waters and playing in the sand.  This one mile beach is said to be the most popular beach, and even though there were more people than the day before at the Baths, there was a section complete with chairs and umbrellas just for the Disney guests.

Tortola British Virgin Islands

On June 21st, we had our first port of call in Tortola.  Our excursion was to the Baths on Virgin Gorda.  After disembarking the Fantasy, we hopped on a catamaran for a 30 minute boat ride to Virgin Gorda.

Then it was another 30 minutes on an open safari truck to get to the Baths National Park.  A short rocky hike on the Baths Trail got us to the first beach of the day.

After about an hour, we went on a hike through the caves towards Devil's Bay beach.  The photos were taken using Emily's underwater camera, but to give you an idea of what it was like -

When we got to Devil's Bay we had more time to play in the sand and water before hiking back to our lunch spot.

After lunch there was some time to swim in the pool before heading back to the ship.

there were chickens and roosters everywhere

And after a full day of fun in the sun, we had to rally for Pirate Night on the ship!
