Top Flight camp

Emily spent the 26-28th in gym camp in Boise.  The 98 girls worked stations from 9-4 each day with coaches that were Olympians, college athletes, and even college coaches.  In the evening, Emily enjoyed swimming at the pool and even Wahooz Family Fun Zone with all the other gymnasts.

Iowa

On the 19th, Emily and I flew back to Iowa.  What was supposed to be a 30 minute layover in Minneapolis turned into a 3 hour delay. Emily was entertained at the indoor playground, but we were definitely tired by the time we made it to Des Moines around 11 that evening.

Our first day in Iowa was spent at an arcade with Grandpa and Grandma.  We had wanted to play laser tag, but a power outage earlier that day meant the internet was down and it wasn't working.  Emily earned enough tickets playing games to get herself a Magic 8 ball prize.  There was also time to play croquet in the yard.

The second day we met up with Pat, Cheri, and Becca for lunch and an escape room.  Although in the end we were trapped, it was a lot of fun!

The next day we went with Becca to Adventureland, Iowa's amusement park.  Emily and I had fun riding the extreme roller coasters, and every one of us left the water ride soaked.  Tuesday and Wednesday we visited great aunts, great uncles, and great grandmas, as well as setting up the camper at Cutty's campground near Des Moines.  During mornings and evenings, we spent a lot of time playing rounds of miniature golf.

We also made it to the trampoline park and rock climbing gym.

We flew back to Boise on the 25th, and Emily was delighted to be invited into the cockpit.  It was a fun and busy trip back to Iowa, thanks Grandpa and Grandma!

Ice Skating

The ice rink in Hailey opened for two weeks in July, so Emily went one afternoon and had the entire place to herself!

Houston

After the cruise, we spent two days in Houston.  Emily checked out a climbing gym and we also went to the Downtown Aquarium.

The aquarium also had a white tiger and a few carnival type rides that kept her entertained for a couple hours.

Day 5

Our last port of call was Jamaica, and the first thing Emily wanted to do was get her hair braided.

Our excursion was to swim with the dolphins.  When we arrived, we first noticed warning signs to look out for falling almonds.  This wasn't a joke, the almonds that were falling were huge and fell from tall trees.

Emily and I went snorkeling with sting rays and checked out the sharks first.

Then when it was our turn to get in with the dolphins, we upgraded Emily's package so she would get a few extra rides and even stand as two dolphins pushed on her feet.  Our dolphin was named Coco.

We were in Jamaica on the 4th of July, but that didn't stop us from celebrating that evening!
