6 months adjusted age
Today Emily and I headed to yet another doctor's appointment, this time the audiologist since the antibiotics she had in the NICU put her at great risk for hearing loss and everything seems to be in the normal range. First he tested for moisture in the ears, followed by place what looked like earplugs connected to wires to test how high and low pitches bounce of her ear hairs. Who knew! Then we went into a sound proof booth where the doctor talked to Emily through different speakers to see if she would react. He was great with her - blowing bubbles, using an elephant puppet to keep her entertained while the testing was going on. The best news is that we can cross that worry off of our list...

The Crib is Done
the final assembly
We spent a couple hours last night assembling the crib in Emily's room. It turned out really well, and Emily was able to sleep in it for the first time last night. Although she didn't sleep very well, but I'm going to blame it on a new tooth coming in and not Aaron's crib.
Aaron's next project - her twin bed. ;)
Emily approves
She's lovin' the new bed.
Our in home therapist was pretty impressed with Emily this week and doesn't feel the need to see her on a weekly basis anymore. The decision was made to have a session only once a month. Oh happy day! On the other hand, it was reported the RSV is peaking at the moment, so I guess we're not ready for the world just yet.

Therapy news
On Friday we went to the doctor for Emily's last synagis shot of the year. Her weight - 16 pounds and 9 ounces. We go back to the pediatrician the first week of April for her 9 month check up. We also went to her monthly therapy appointment, where her therapist was pretty pleased to see Emily sitting independently. We have five things on her homework list this time - all getting her ready to crawl. Yikes. So, we are to work on going from sitting to tummy and tummy to sitting, kneeling, commando crawling, and pivoting while on her tummy.
Aaron's crib update - all pieces are assembled. Now it is a matter of applying the finish which seems to involve a lot of waiting for the coats to dry. Emily should have the crib in her room by the end of the week. Wonder what project he'll take on next?

Crib Update
So, the side gates have a couple coats of finish on them, they need two more and then two coats of wax to be finished. The end pieces are supposed to have two top caps on each end, and Aaron has one done on each. It has to dry for 24 hours between each coat, so... there's a few more days to go. Good thing for pack-n-plays.
